It was agreed at the start of the game to restrict the game to 12 ends due to the weather and light.

On Rink 1 Connaught won the first end but then dropped 8 over the next 4 ends and were 3-8 down. They picked up 3 on ends 6 and 7 but then dropped 8 over the last 5 ends to lose 6-16. Connaught won 4 ends.

A bit disappointing that we could not pick up the points required to secure second place in the league but I think we have had a reasonably successful season as we managed to beat every team in the league at least once. I would like to thank all team members for their support.

On Rink 3 The game started quite evenly for the first 5 ends with Connaught 4-5 down but, as on rink 2, the Aldiss triple slipped into overdrive and proceeded to score 20 to Connaught’s 4 over the last 13 ends to lose 8-25.

Another good win to keep us in contention with Aldiss Magpies for second place in the league. Aldiss Magpies are our next opponents so this will be a key game.

On Rink 3 A completely different game to the other two rinks with no more than 2 points between the two teams until end 13 when Thetford scored 3 to take a 3-point lead. They increased that to 5 by end 14. Connaught dug in and scored 6 to Thetford’s 1 over the last 4 ends to get a creditable 18-18 draw. Connaught won 9 ends. Well done.

A slightly disappointing result as Thetford were at the bottom of the league but they played well and earned the win.
