Rink 6 – Never in the hunt. 15 -3 down after 10 ends. Never gave up. Winning 10- 7 next 8 ends.

Rink 5 - In control all the way through the match. Never losing their concentration. Worthy winners. Well, done to all 3 players.

Rink 4 - All even after 10 ends – 12 shots each. However, a 4 on ends 12 and 14 took the game away.

This was our last game of the season. A season of great success. We won 5 out of 10 games.
Thanks to all the squad for their support all season. It was an honour to have been your Captain in this unusual year.

Keep Safe.

Connaught Yew v Bradenham

Connaught Yew won at home against Bradenham on 17 August 2021 by 5-3 and 56-56

Congratulations to everyone to record two first – Our first away win and tied shot score.

Rink 2 – Colin Barton, Trevor Burt, Kathy Arthurton – 7 shots -34 shots.

Rink 4 – Pat Barton, George Nash, Barry Osborne – 25 shots – 9 shots

Rink 5 – Chris Oakley, Jill Oakley, Ken Ramsbottom – 24 shots – 13 shots

Rink 2 – After 7 ends we were only 5-10 down but a 7 on end 8 took the game away. Battled to the end. Trevor had a very good night reducing the number of shots on several occasions. Unfortunately, skip could not keep up the good work.

This rink finished about 3 ends before the rest of the team. 27 shots to be made up.

After 15 ends on the other 2 rinks, we were up in total 15 shots. Still 12 shots behind.

Rink 5 finished next and won by 11 shots.

All eyes on Rink 4.

Rink 4 on end 17 scored a 6 to lead by 15 shots.

Rink 4 needed a 2 on the last end to enable the team to win. We were holding 5 with Bradenham Skip bowling the last wood of the evening. Needless to say, he went for broke i.e., he had a firing wood which sent woods flying. We were left holding 1.  Therefore, tying the shots as 56 each.

What a great end to the last away game of the season. Our first away win of the season.

Well, done everyone. Colin
