We had several players unavailable so we dug deep and everyone played really well.

Singles Carol Tipton v A chambers lost 10-21 Carol stepped up after a change within the team and she did really well trying to keep the points gap, should they be needed for the final tally.

Pairs Ann Bayes and Jenni Moon lost in a very tense match holding shots only for their skip to knock team out. Great effort.

Triples Pat Barton Kathie Botley and skip Carole Beavers started poorly but began to take the Swaffham three lead by Chris Bailey getting back to 12 -12 on end 15 Swaffham had a 3 on end 16 which left us 2 points adrift a good fight back.

Fours Liz Keogh Lorrain Williams Carole Taylor and skip Jill Oakley again a poor start but the girls pulled it back and after 2 threes and 2 fours were 15 all on end 15. The lead went back and forth end 17 was 22 shots each but the girls stuck there, and Swaffham pulled ahead to take it 22—28. Hard luck a great effort.

Connaught lost 4 points to nil.  But we tried our very best with new players in the team without whom we couldn’t have played the match.  Thanks also to Sheila Bragg for marking the singles she came to support us, but Swaffham hadn’t arranged the marker.  Afterwards, Sheila said that she would have to come out of the Ladies matches for the rest of the season. A big thanks to Sheila for all your service to the Ladies and we hope that things will be better for next year.

Thanks to Swaffham for the lunch much needed and much enjoyed.
