Town v Country Report

The Annual Town v Country match took place on Saturday 5th October 2019,

(the event started in 2015 as a light-hearted social event and the honours were even with 2 wins apiece), which the town won for the second year running by 11 points to 9 and 62-47 on shots.

This year the Captains for the night were, for the Country Bob Oatway and Mike Minshull for the town.

Teams were selected from the names list into 5 triples and each triple played 2 games of 6 ends.

1st Session

On Mat 1 Jan Smail, David Warne and Mike Smail lost 3-7 against Diana Adcock, Mike Parsons and Mike Minshull.
On Mat 2 Val Hambling, John Winup and Jim Squire won 5-3 against Ann Bayes, Barry Westwood and Sheila Bragg.

2nd Session

On Mat 1 Elaine Oatway, Malcolm Southgate and Bob Oatway lost 6-8 against Alison Rush, Bill Adcock and Paul Mc Donald.
On Mat 2 Richard Adcock, Moira Eades and Owen Secker lost 5-6 against Catherine Branch, Derek Liles and Sylvia Parsons

3rd Session

On Mat 1 David Flatt, Roy Taylor and Richard Harrison won 10-3 against Ann Westwood, Dennis Branch and Joe LiRocchi
On Mat 2 Jan Smail, David Warne and Mike Smail lost 0-13 against Alison Rush, Bill Adcock and Paul Mc Donald

4th Session

On Mat 1 Richard Adcock, Moira Eades and Owen Secker won 7-4 against Ann Bayes, Barry Westwood and Sheila Bragg.
On Mat 2 David Flatt, Roy Taylor and Richard Harrison won against Diana Adcock, Mike Parsons and Mike Minshull.

5th Session

On Mat 1 Val Hambling, John Winup and Jim Squire lost 1- 8 against Catherine Branch, Derek Liles and Sylvia Parsons.
On Mat 2 Elaine Oatway, Malcolm Southgate and Bob Oatway drew 5-5 against Ann Westwood, Dennis Branch and Joe LiRocchi.

A sumptuous buffet followed many thanks to Sandra Adcock for doing the catering, and to Marianne Liles for the raffle and to all the bar staff for a very good evening of bowls and social.
